Jamie was born in California, near the city of Los Angeles. She and Lacie met during their freshman year at Emory University when they lived on the same floor of Alabama Hall. One night, a disoriented Jamie came stumbling into Lacie's dorm room because she was ill and felt faint. Lacie gave her some apple juice and walked her safely back to her bed. They've been friends ever since. Lacie and Jamie were roommates for 2 years at Emory and for 3 years in DC, until Lacie moved in with Ben. Jamie works as a Sales Manager for a Marriott Hotel in DC.

Tara was born in Paris, and she lived in Brazil, Germany and Japan while growing up. Lacie and Tara met during their last year of high school when they both won a scholarship to Emory University. The school flew them to Atlanta, and they were housed together in the dorm room of an Emory student. After just five days, the poor girl's room was a complete disaster. Tara and Lacie decided to be roommates during their freshman year because it was clear that no one else would be able to stand their messiness. Through the years, they've remained very close friends, visiting each other over every holiday. Tara is currently a lawyer at a prestigious law firm in Manhattan.

Vicki was born and raised in Maryland, and her parents are from Jordan and Israel. Lacie met Vicki during their first year of graduate school. Both straight out of college, they were the youngest students in the epidemiology masters program at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. They quickly bonded and helped each other survive the rigorous two years of graduate school. Vicki now works for the pharmaceutical company, Novartis, and lives in Morristown, New Jersey. She and Lacie call and visit each other often.
